A Love for the Area:
I grew up in Northern California with a love of family and sports. In 2008, I moved to a small town in Northeast Iowa to attend Upper Iowa University on a volleyball scholarship. I absolutely love the Midwest and I look forward to calling Ankeny my home for many years to come. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree from Upper Iowa University, I went on to earn a Doctorate degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2014, where I graduated magna cum laude.

Chiropractic Education:
While attending Palmer College, I advanced my adjusting techniques and chiropractic skills by joining the Troxell Intern Program. This is an extensive program that specializes in assimilating the knowledge and skills necessary to become the absolute best chiropractor within the Gonstead system. Through this program I have attended and completed over 100 hours of Gonstead-specific seminars learning an array of valuable information for extremities, gait evaluation and specific spinal adjusting. Outside of the adjusting experience gained at Palmer clinics, I went on a Clinic Abroad trip to Manaus, Brazil where we helped bring spinal healthcare to an underprivileged community.

Active Lifestyle:
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going to the gym and anything related to volleyball. Currently I play on a few leagues throughout the Ankeny and Des Moines area. When I am not playing, I enjoy coaching the Iowa Powerplex Volleyball club, a competitive league for aspiring young girl athletes.

Family Focused Care:
I have a passion for infants, children of all ages, female health and the spinal health of young athletes. My goal is to improve the quality of life for every patient and help maintain an active, healthy lifestyle, full of the things you enjoy. I strive to help people get well through chiropractic care.

Family Wellness Chiropractic hopes our dedication for helping you and your family is evident. We know that your health is important to pursue your passions in life. I look forward to meeting you and your family to discuss how specific chiropractic care can help you live your healthiest life.

Chiropractor Wyatt Tyler D.C.

Chiropractor Ankeny IA Wyatt Tyler

Dr. Wyatt Tyler is a contributing chiropractor at Family Wellness Chiropractic. After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic and practicing in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Dr. Wyatt never doubted that he would return home to practice in Iowa.

Dr. Wyatt’s story is one that people don’t hear about often regarding Chiropractic care. Dr. Wyatt’s suffering wasn’t spinal related in terms of pain and suffering. His issues were GI related. At the age of 15 he became very ill and within days was in surgery for an ischemic small intestine. Part of the blood supply to a small portion of his small intestine had been choked off and it died within days. That portion of intestine was removed along with his appendix. Following the surgery is when the real pain started. Every day Dr. Wyatt dealt with intense IBS symptoms, which included frequent trips to the bathroom and daily pain in his stomach. As a young adult he learned to cope with the issue and despite trying multiple medications was given the answer that it was just something he would have to deal with. Fortunately for Dr. Wyatt he met a young Chiropractor that talked to him about the role his spine and nervous system played in regards to his gut health. After a report of findings that left him very skeptical Dr. Wyatt received a very specific adjustment to his spine to an area that hadn’t ever caused him discomfort. While on the adjusting table he felt an instant change in how his gut felt. Shocked and a little startled at the outcome of his adjustment Dr. Wyatt started to really question his future plans and within a week applied to Palmer College of Chiropractic. He knew there was something to this Chiropractic stuff and set off on the journey of creating his own health and helping others achieve greater health as well.

In the interest of learning more, and to the benefit of his patients, Dr. Wyatt participated in the Troxell Intern Program, completed his Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician post graduate certification. With an expertise in extremity adjustments he teaches with the Gonstead Methodology Institute. Dr. Wyatt offers complete Chiropractic care for all members of the family, especially the athletes. Having grown up playing multiple sports, Dr. Wyatt helps athletes perform at their best by focusing on improved performance through improved mechanics, injury prevention, and return-to-play protocols. He also focuses heavily on helping individuals and athletes recover from concussions in terms of spine health, nutrition and rehab. However, he is committed to giving all of his patients’ excellent care. He educates them about their options and gives them suggestions that they may not have considered.
